Millennium Distinction Awards are presented by Technology Academy Finland to Finnish scientists and growth companies for outstanding technological achievements. As the 2010 Millennium Technology Prize was won by Professor Michael Grätzel for his invention of dye-sensitized solar cells, this year's Millennium Distinction Awards will be presented to people and companies working in the solar energy sector.
This year's Millennium Distinction Awards event will be held in the City of Vaasa on 17-18 October 2011. The Vaasa region is home to several progressive energy companies and centres of international technological know-how. The event is organised in cooperation with Technology Centre Merinova/Energy Technology Cluster programme (OSKE).
